Sideways.

The value is the culture.

Snibbu has no price target to sell. What he has is rarer: a permanent place in how the internet talks about markets. Every trader knows the chop. Snibbu gave it a face.

What he's worth to the internet

Three things no other mascot can claim.

He named the quiet part.

The bull and the bear were taken. The sideways market, the long stretches between the moves people remember, had no character until Snibbu.

Nobody commissioned him.

Every piece in his archive was made by the people who post him. No brand team, no art budget, no campaign. Just a crab people kept drawing.

He crosses borders.

The same pantheon of Bobo, Mumu and Snibbu turns up wherever retail traders gather, in whatever market they trade and whatever language they joke in.

Proof it travels

A pantheon nobody asked for.

“Beginner's guide to ISB deities” is a 2022 meme from India's retail-trading scene, full of rupees and FIIs. It introduces three gods: Bobo the bear, Mumu the bull, and Snib “Snibbu” Snab, the crab who goes sideways and keeps on paddling. Nobody paid for it. That is what cultural value looks like.

Why it lasts

Kings get crowned. The crab outlasts them.

Mascots built for a single move fade when the move ends. Snibbu was never about a move. As long as markets go sideways, and they always come back to it, the joke stays true, and so does he.
